Care Guide

Using this care routine will keep your blanket looking its best and feeling soft for a very long time.

Once your blanket arrives

  • Carefully remove it from the reusable vacuum bag it came packed in.
  • Unfold and give it a gentle shake and allow it to fluff back up within the next hour.
  • If you feel impatient and want to use your blanket immediately, place it inside a mesh bag and put it in the dryer, in very low heat, for about 10 minutes. It should look great once you remove it from the mesh bag.

Wash with care

  • Always use a laundry mesh bag. Available as an add-on at checkout or pick one up here: mesh wash bag.
  • Machine wash in cold water, on a delicate or gentle cycle.
  • Use a very small amount of mild detergent, such as a baby detergent (about 1–2 tablespoons).
  • Do NOT use fabric softener.
  • Add a couple of color-catcher sheets to the wash to keep the colorway clean.

Dry properly

  • Lay flat to air dry - this is the gentlest option and what we recommend.
  • Or tumble dry on low heat or even the air-dry option if your machine has it - keep the blanket inside the mesh bag.

What we don’t claim

This is a hand-knit chenille blanket made for slow, careful washing. We don’t market it as something you can throw in the wash every other day — that wouldn’t be honest, and it would shorten the life of the blanket. Followed gently, this routine will keep it looking its best and feeling soft for a very long time.
